A beautiful antique Czech necklace dating to the 1920s–1930s, featuring a continuous arrangement of luminous aquamarine-blue faceted glass stones alternating with intricate openwork filigree links.
Each elongated rectangular glass stone is individually prong-set, creating a delicate rivière-like effect around the neckline. Ornate floral filigree stations in aged brass add an old-world romantic quality, beautifully balancing the geometric lines of the Art Deco-era glass.
The necklace has developed a rich, naturally darkened patina over nearly a century, giving the metal wonderful depth and character. The pale blue Czech glass catches the light beautifully, shifting from soft watery blue to a deeper jewel tone depending on its surroundings.
An especially lovely example of interwar Czechoslovakian costume jewelry, when Bohemian glassmakers were celebrated throughout Europe for their exceptional cut and colored glass.
