My current favorite flea market in California is the Alameda Antique Faire, held at Alameda Point that faces San Francisco across the bay on the first Sunday of the month. This market has long been known to be the creme-de-le-creme when it comes to quality of antiques and vendors. I have been to the market twice in the last year and walked away with the most extraordinary haul both times. What I love about this market in particular is that I am able to find more Victorian pieces than any other market, as well as much rarer finds overall. The prices are comparable to Rose Bowl, but I don't think they are too high that it would scare folks away. Another detail I love is that they have fantastic food vendors so you have a plethora of great options once you're ready to take a shopping break and enjoy a bite. My favorite is the lemonade stand for some lavendar lemonade (appears to be a mom and daughter operation!) and the greek souvlaki/ gyro stand. There is also an older gentleman that makes to-die-for kettle corn and he is a character!
